A Birthday for Goldie
It is someone's special day today. My little goldilocks is 6 years old.Born exactly one week after my birthday! She is my rainbow baby, and she is one of those sweet little spirits that just lights up a room. She is also a demanding little girl haha. For the past month, she has been giving us the list of what she wants to do for her birthday because it is "her special day!" Kids these days!
Now it would not be true to my nature, if i did not make her a new birthday outfit. I try to incorporate things about their personality. She love the shine, the drama and she loves Rapunzel. So I upcycled a sequin top in my stash, and added some eggplant purple and with this sweet print from Art Gallery. Isn't it the perfect fabric for some Rapunzel inspiration?
Her favorite pattern is the Starlight City from Lil Luxe Collection (affiliate link) so I used the bodice, and modified the sleeves to be a princess sleeve. Then I switched the skirt to the Festival Skirt from Striped Swallow Designs. I thought it was the perfect dramatic element while giving her the princess length. It turned out even better than I could have imagined! It's a win and she loves it.
Then to add to the birthday fun, we let her do a pink hair wash and some makeup. She loves getting girlyfied and I love letting my kids have their special day. I know some would not agree with this, but it works for us.
